Park revealed the model name as Silverado E and confirmed that the Chevrolet would be making its debut at next month’s Consumer Electronics Show. “The Hummer SUV will be launched in 2022, as you’ll see.” Park stated that the Cadillac Lyriq would launch at the online conference. “And then, very soon thereafter, you’ll begin to see the Silverado E and the Sierra.
“We believe that electric vehicle life begins at 300 miles Range and not 200 or 250. We’ve been there. That’s what we did. It’s the three that will make it possible to achieve mass adoption. The Silverado E, like the GMC Hummer EV, will use the same Ultium electric platform that the Chevrolet. It will also adopt four-wheel steering to improve its turning circle. Ford announced this week that it had to cancel reservations for its electric F-150 Lightning. Jim Farley, CEO of Ford, told Automotive News that the Blue Oval has already received nearly 200,000 reservations, more than double the company’s annual production targets despite having doubled its capacity in August.
