You can count on a pickup with so many great features. The pickup is well-balanced in terms of efficiency and performance. It also has a good level of refinement. We love the new interior design and all of the available tech features. We believe that the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Diesel will be available for purchase sometime in the fourth quarter of 2019, given that there aren’t any significant changes expected over the next year.

2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Diesel Redesign

Design-wise, the model will be the same as the 2022 model. The 2022 model received a major makeover, even though it was a mid-cycle refresh. The new styling includes a completely new front, which features new headlights and a new grille. Models like the AT4 and Denali will continue to have their unique details.

Each model has its own unique styling, and the AT4 comes with many off-road upgrades. You can think of an upgraded suspension with 2-inch higher ground clearance, all terrain tires, low-range gearing, and skid plates. There is also a new AT4X trim with more upgrades. This model comes with Multimatic spool valve dampers, electronic locking front- and rear differentials, and extra underbody protection. It also features black 18-inch wheels with gritty Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac mud-Terrain tires.

Interior

Interior updates were also made during the recent update. The most notable feature is the 13.4-inch infotainment display, with a 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster. This will be standard on all 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 Diesel models. Also, there is a completely new dashboard design, which features a more attractive shape, nicer materials and a revised center console, which utilizes a modern gear shifter instead of the outdated steering-column-mounted unit. The pickup will be available in the same cab configurations as last year, with three cab styles, three beds sizes, and no major changes.

Trim Levels

The trim level organization will remain unchanged. The diesel engine will also be available in every model except the base model. The SLE model will be the first to get the diesel engine. It already has a lot of standard equipment including the digital instrument cluster and large infotainment display. Next up is the Elevation trim, which features several styling improvements, while the SLT trim adds more tech- and convenience features. We have already spoken of the AT4 and AT4X models, which will offer loads of off-road upgrades. The Denali, the most luxurious truck in the range, will remain as the most luxurious, featuring a long list features and unique styling details.

Engine

Things under the hood will not change. The GMC Sierra 1500 Diesel 2023 will carry the 3.0-liter Duramax six-cylinder engine. This turbocharger produces 277 horsepower and 460 poundfeet of torque. It is paired with a 10-speed auto transmission that sends power to all or the rear wheels. This version now comes with the max trailering package. It includes a few chassis upgrades and greatly increases the maximum towing capacity. This pickup can now tow 13.200 pounds when properly equipped. This version has strong capabilities and a very impressive fuel economy. It averages around 23 mpg in cities and 30 mpg highways.
