2023 VW Amarok – The 2023 VW Amarok will be completely redesigned! These are the most recent reports on VW’s pickup truck, which has been in production for more than a decade. We know that the new generation of the VW pickup is coming soon. However, we do not know if the German manufacturer will design it. It will instead work with Ford to offer a pickup that borrows many design ideas from the next-generation Ranger. This model is also expected to be available soon.
The exact details of the car are not known at this time. We do know that the 2023 VW Amarok will be riding on Ford’s platform, and will likely use Ford’s engines. However, the interior design and styling will be entirely different. The new model will bring much-needed improvements to utility, off-road performance, and visual appeal.
2023 VW Amarok Redesign
It’s easy to see that the current generation requires changes. The new model will be developed in collaboration with Ford, as we have already stated. Simply put, the original model was developed over many years. It seems that VW doesn’t have the time or the resources to recreate the process again. The second generation will be built on Ford Ranger which will also get a new version soon. The updated T6 platform will be used by the 2023 VW Amarok, just as the Ranger. This layout will make the Amarok more capable and provide a rugged suspension setup, which is a huge advantage for pickups. The new platform will allow Ford to borrow new powertrain options.
The exterior design is dominated by size. The new 2023 VW Amarok, which will be based on the Ranger platform, will increase in size. The Ranger’s wheelbase is approximately 127 inches, whereas the current generation measures in at 121 inches. It is also a significantly larger vehicle in all aspects. In the future, we expect the models to be identical in size. The current generation isn’t very attractive in terms of styling. It looks boring for a pickup truck. We have high expectations for the new model. It should follow the brand’s current design language and display a more dynamic appearance. Expect single- and double-cab versions, with rumors suggesting an SUV version in certain markets.
A new cabin design is sure to follow. It’s too early to know details at this time, but we can expect a dashboard design that is VW-style, featuring high-quality materials and excellent build quality. We also expect lots of tech features such as a large infotainment display, smartphone connectivity, and many other features. Higher trim levels may also include the well-known digital instrument cluster. We have already discussed the expected interior space. Single cab models can accommodate two people, while double cab models can accommodate more. You can also expect a decently-sized cargo bed.
Some sources speculate that VW could install its own engines when it comes to engines. Ford’s powertrain however seems more likely. We expect to see the Blue Oval company’s familiar units. The company’s 2.0-liter turbodiesel will be featured in the base versions. The maximum output should be around 210 horsepower. A 3.0-liter V6 turbodiesel engine with around 250 horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque would be available in higher trim levels. The engines would be offered in pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission. In certain regions of the world, there is also the possibility of a gasoline version. We believe that the 2023 VW Amarok will come with Ford’s turbo-four 2.3-liter engine, which produces around 270 horsepower and 310 pound-feet torque. It also comes as a pair with a 10-speed manual transmission.
