2024 Mercedes-Benz e-Actros Truck Review
“The eActros will be manufactured on the same assembly line as conventionally-driven trucks before it arrives at the Future Truck Center. The assembly of various vehicle types will occur in an integrated fashion. The basic structure of the vehicle will also be constructed on the same assembly line, regardless of whether an electric powertrain or conventional combustion engine is used.
The eActros is then taken to the Future Truck Center where electrification takes place. In recent months, intensive preparations have been made for the new production processes. This includes the construction of a new assembly line. The eActros will then be assembled step by step. Other high-voltage components, such as the charging unit, are also assembled in different production steps. This is the interface that connects the vehicle to the charging station. After all, components are assembled, the whole system can be put into operation at Future Truck Center. The truck can then be driven. For final inspection and finishing, the vehicle is then reintegrated into the regular production process.
