2025 Toyota Electric Pickup Truck – Many have criticized Toyota for not being quick to get into electric cars. This is about to change. Recently, the Japanese company revealed a slew of new Toyota and Lexus electric vehicles. The so-called Pickup Electric Vehicle caught our attention in the back corner. This is our first glimpse at Toyota’s electric truck plans. It shows that there are reasons to be excited.
2025 Toyota Electric Pickup Truck
The electric trucks we have seen, from the GMC Hummer EEV SUT to Ford F-150 Lightning and Bollinger B2, all share a common trait: They are huge. Even the Rivian R1T, which is more adventurous, blurs the line between full-size and midsize trucks. The Pickup EV by Toyota looks smaller, at least from the photos. It is sporty in appearance and has a compact cabin and bed.
We don’t yet know the name of this truck by Toyota, nor do we know if the next-generation Tacoma will have an electric version. It would be difficult for a truck to look like an electric Tacoma if Toyota had announced it was making one. The styling is reminiscent of the Tundra, but so will the next-generation Tacoma.
The EV pickups are geared towards off-road capabilities. Off-roaders are very trendy and EV trucks, with their lower center of gravity (and a lot of torque instantly), are well-suited to it. Toyota will almost certainly take an electric pickup truck there. Toyota’s Pickup Electric Vehicle is equipped with large off-road tires. We bet that the white paint that shouts “TRD Pro!” to enthusiasts isn’t accidental.
2025 Toyota Electric Pickup Truck Launched
Toyota has announced that it will launch 15 battery-electric vehicles by 2025. The pickup will be a leader in this movement. Although we don’t know the exact status of Toyota’s electric powertrain development, the pickup’s exterior design is close to being ready for production Toyota showed us an identical top-secret mockup of the Tundra just a few months prior to the official debut. Car and Driver speculate that Toyota might release more information within the next year. Let’s hope they are right.
